Wine Advocate 88 points – There is one blend in the Primus range, and I have now tasted the 2014 Primus The Blend. It mixes origins within Colchagua Apalta and Marchigue complemented by Merlot from the warmer part of their Casablanca vineyards. In 2014, the final blend was 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carmenere, 23% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot. It fermented in open top vats with indigenous yeast and matured in barriques and 5,000-liter oak foudres. It’s very spicy, balsamic, with a herbal touch and some meatiness. It has nice harmony, a medium-bodied palate with good freshness, dry and quite tasty. 216,000 bottles produced..Luis GutiÃÆérrez, April/2017 |
